View previous lab resultsKPV is a tripeptide (lysine-proline-valine) - the tail-end fragment of α-MSH (alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone), a natural signalling hormone. Despite its small size it retains anti-inflammatory activity.
In rodent models of colitis (inflammation of the colon), oral KPV reduced inflammatory markers and improved tissue damage. It is studied as a tool for anti-inflammatory signalling in the gut and other tissues.
Research indicates KPV is carried into cells by the PepT1 transporter (a “peptide doorway” in intestinal cells) and then dampens inflammatory signalling from inside the cell, rather than acting only through surface melanocortin receptors.
KPV is not an approved medicine in any jurisdiction, and this product is supplied as a research compound only. In July 2026 a US FDA advisory committee voted 8-6-1 to recommend KPV for the American 503A compounding list, having reviewed it for wound healing and inflammatory conditions and against the recommendation of the FDA's own scientific reviewers. That vote is advisory and not binding: it concerns what US compounding pharmacies may work with, it is not a drug approval, and it takes effect only if the FDA accepts it and completes formal rulemaking.
